Dental Cleanings/Examinations: Regular exams and dental cleanings are important parts of maintaining optimal oral health for your child. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children have their first dental visit no later than the age of one. During an exam we will do a complete intraoral and extraoral exam to evaluate for any problems or cavities. Visiting our office every 6 months will give you the chance to talk to Dr. Rachel about any questions you have as your child continues to develop dentally.

Oral Hygiene Instructions: As part of the examination, we will always review specific oral hygiene and home care instructions with your child. Depending on the age and specific needs of your child, instructions may change. It is important to maintain appropriate homecare to help obtain the best dental health, and reviewing instructions with your children’s dentist is an integral part of creating good, lasting dental habits.

Digital Radiographs (X-Rays): Our practice is dedicated to providing your child with the safest treatment options available. Therefore we utilize advanced digital X-ray technology in our office. Your child's entire body's health and well-being is our priority and we believe that reducing the amount of radiation exposure is extremely important. Although the overall amount of radiation used in dental X-rays is very small, Digital X-rays can reduce your child's exposure even further.

Growth and Development Evaluation/Monitoring: As your child grows, his/her mouth, teeth and jaws also change and develop in different ways. Sometimes these changes lead to crowding of the teeth and other changes that may require early interceptive treatment. At every visit Dr. Rachel will evaluate and discuss with you the recommendations at each stage of your child’s development to ensure the most optimal treatment specific to your child’s needs.
